Lush, shaded, and right in the city. Big grassy banks and picnic tables tucked under trees. Bonus points for bringing a frisbee.

Great for a low-key picnic with water views and birdlife. Lots of grassy patches along the track, and plenty of room to spread out.

Right on Marine Parade with ocean views, shade, and a cool Art Deco vibe. Often quiet during the day and great for people-watching.

Centennial Gardens

Super peaceful and tucked away near Bluff Hill. Has waterfalls, steps, and some great shady nooks to snack in peace.

Waipatiki Beach Reserve

Further out but worth the drive. Has a little stream, shady trees and wide open grassy spots behind the dunes. Perfect for a post-swim burger.
